Southwestern Christian College

Southwestern Christian College (SWCC) has been the trailblazer of Christian education for decades. This dream started with a few dedicated brothers many years ago who saw a need to help underprivileged children gain an enriching full-scale Christian education. Today many Church of Christ leading ministers across the nation are recipients of this learning institution. From one of our most prolific ministers and founder Levi Kennedy to the current president of SWCC, Dr. Ervin Seamster, the college is still existing among turbulent times. Dr. Seamster took the helm after the great work of Dr. Jack Evans who over 40 years was the president. We know Dr. Seamster was sent by God to stand in the gap when financial and accreditation problems became a sure sign of the closing of SWCC.
In just a few years Dr. Seamster an alumni of SWCC has showed his dedication and leadership to overcome the many challenges holding the banner of success and determination high withstanding the odds. Dr. Seamster has produced many fundraising programs to help finance the college back on stable ground and placed it back in good standing. He has established programs such as the first "Kennedy Scholars Program," a presidential scholarship program for those students who aim high and maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the 2 year term. The Levi Kennedy Memorial Scholarship Organization attributes its monies to SWCC under this umbrella. This money goes towards the much needed financial assistance of entering and present students. To bring it home, SWCC has stood the test of much criticism and slander over the decades however today remains the only Black owned and operated Christian College in the world. Churches of Christ over the nation have placed this institution as the single most leading minority ran college that helps promote Christian growth now and the future.
The Levi Kennedy Memorial Scholarship Organization (LKMSO) takes great pride in saluting 43 years of dedicated work raising funds for this institution. Proud leaders, past and present have made this college an historical Black landmark in Christian education. To this end we invite all those of like mind to join us in the charge before us to keep the doors of SWCC open by donating and sending youth to the college. We all have a job to do, let’s keep the legacy and legends alive by allowing others to enjoy the “Benefits of a Christian Education”. God Bless you for your help and prayers...
